N SPORT SSD Side-mount Super-low-profile Seat Rail
Side-mount Super-low-profile seat rail
- Designed for full bucket seats and other side-mount seats.
- Height adjustments can be made with the side stays alone.
- Designed for sports cars and other vehicles requiring a low seating position.
- The seat is dropped between the sliders, bringing it to the lowest position physically possible.
- As with other seat rails, only one hand is needed to slide the seat.
- 4.5-mm side stays provide ample rigidity.
- Distortion of sliders due to welding heat is eliminated, resulting in smoother sliding action. The sliders and mounting frame are secured with rivets. The side stays and seat belt buckle stay are jointly secured with rivets.
Smooth sliding is assured.
Welding heat is the primary cause of slider hardening. The mounting frame and sliders of this model are secured with rivets to prevent thermal distortion of the metal sliders. Direct welding of sliders* is performed only as an auxiliary process to minimize the number of spot welds. For vehicles that require transfer of the original-equipment seat belt buckle to the seat rail, the seat belt buckle stay and side stay are fastened together. Smoother sliding action is achieved by the elimination of distortion due to welding heat.
* The structure of the SSD model requires that the console-side mounting frame be secured only by welding (without the use of rivets).
The seat drops down between the sliders, bringing it to the lowest position physically possible.
Because the seat is positioned between the left and right sliders, the seat can be lowered very close*1 to the vehicle floor for mounting. Despite its drop-in design, the innovative slide mechanism*2 allows the user to slide back and forth while holding the slide lever with one hand, as is common with most seat rails.
*1 Depending on the seat mounting position (bolt hole position).
*2 Raise the console-side lever by 90 degrees to release the seat into a free-sliding position. Raise the door-side slide lever to slide the seat to the desired position, then release this slide lever. Lock down the console-side lever.
4.5-mm thick side stays provide ample rigidity.
Due to the structure of Model SSD, the front and rear side stays are separate, but their thickness*1 is greater than that of the other side stays to ensure rigidity. The elongated bolt holes allow for the mounting of many different types of seats. This design also supports seats with high mounting positions*2 (bolt hole positions) such as the Recaro RS-G.
*1 Incorporates 4.5-mm thick members (3.2 mm for Model SSD-V, 3.4 mm for Model S1–S36).
*2 When the mounting position of the rear of the seat is high, only the bolt hole at the top of the side stay can be used.
Includes seat-mounting bolts.
All bolts required to mount the seat are included. Your current seat can be mounted only with these bolts.
Includes side airbag canceller.
Regardless of whether standard or optional equipment is installed, side airbag cancellers are provided to prevent the triggering of warning lights in models equipped with side airbags.
The 4.5-mm thick side stays provide ample rigidity.

“Seat mounting width” explained
We suggest measuring the width of the seat across its bottom as shown in the image. Measure from the surfaces that mount to the side stays.
If the front and rear of the seat vary in width, measure the seat at its widest point.
